Portable Solar Charging

Solar modules for remote applications must be tough, lightweight and easy to transport. TerraDat Series are designed for the challenge of the field. They provide power even with bullet holes or in partial shade. The TerraDat Series can be dropped, stepped on, packed and re-deployed, and will continue to operate. Field-proven as dependable and easy to use for military units, trekkers, climbers and professional photographers depend on the TerraDat Series for field communications, emergency power and battery maintenance.

 The Series 10, 15 and 30 are covered by a 5-year warranty.

Unique and Durable

The unique design of the TerraDat Series features a lightweight construction without glass or fragile crystalline to break, crack, or add on extra weight. The tough nylon fabric covering allows the unit to be folded to a convenient book size, for easy storage and transport. The Series 10 offers dual voltage charging for 12v and 24v, the Series 15 and the Series 30 are for 12v charging.

The TerraDat Series was designed to meet military requirements for durability, performance and reliability. TefzelŪ (by DuPont) serves as a strong, long-lasting front cover. Individual solar laminates contain by-pass diodes, making the TerraDat Series solar chargers tolerant of severe shadow or partial covering. Charging rate and voltage can even be adjusted to meet specific needs.

Flexible Solar Battery Chargers

Each flexible solar battery charger uses United Solar's proprietary Triple Junction spectrum-splitting amorphous silicon cell design to achieve high performance. The thin-film cells are made in a patented continuous roll-to-roll deposition process on a flexible stainless steel sheet. The result is a unique, flexible, light-weight cell.

The vinyl and foam modules are exceptionally durable. They are encapsulated in UV stabilized polmers and bonded and stitched to a cushioned backing material. The polymer encapsulation includes EVA and fluoropolymer Tefzel, a DuPont film similar to Teflon. Bypass diodes are connected across each cell, allowing the modules (excluding the USF-5) to produce power even when partially shaded.
